Bank Operations & Finance Assistant
Description We are looking for a skilled Bank Operations & Finance Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Saint Louis, Missouri. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting both the Operations and Finance departments by stepping in during peak workload periods or staff absences. This position requires adaptability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to seamlessly transition between various banking functions. Responsibilities: • Provide support for liquidity and portfolio management activities during times of increased workload or staff shortages. • Perform deposit operations tasks to ensure smooth processing during high-volume periods or when regular staff are unavailable. • Assist with electronic services operations, offering coverage as needed to maintain service continuity. • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while staying updated on changes to banking processes. • Handle daily operational tasks, including item processing, Positive Pay, Direct Link Merchant services, check returns, and related functions. • Collaborate with the Finance and Accounting Generalist to complete routine financial tasks efficiently. • Update policies and procedures to reflect changes in processes, regulations, or industry standards. • Participate in disaster recovery testing to ensure preparedness for potential disruptions. • Process invoices related to account analysis and conduct reviews to maintain accuracy and compliance. • Take on additional duties as assigned to support the Operations and Finance teams effectively. Requirements • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Comprehensive knowledge of banking operations, including item processing and electronic banking systems. • Familiarity with deposit, loan, and accounting systems, along with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies. • Solid understanding of banking regulations, particularly in payments, digital banking, and cybersecurity. • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication for effective collaboration. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel at an intermediate level. • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a focus on delivering high-quality work. • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 2 years of banking experience, including exposure to deposit operations and accounting functions.
