Job Description
As a Bakery Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our bakery products. This position involves sampling, testing, and documenting results for various bakery items, including cakes, cupcakes, muffins, cookies, cake donuts, and yeast-raised donuts.
ResponsibilitiesPull bakery ingredient or batter samples from the production line every hour according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).Weigh and mix dry bakery ingredients with the correct amounts of eggs, oil, water, and other necessary components using an industrial mixer.Weigh and pour the appropriate amount of batter into baking containers and bake products according to recipe specifications.Conduct basic laboratory tests such as pH, weight, height, spreading, percent moisture, and viscosity on raw ingredients and baked goods.Enter test results into the SAP database and Excel spreadsheets.Perform quality assurance checks, including label accuracy, ingredient and allergen listing, metal detector checks, and conducting audits and inspections.Verify completion of all necessary paperwork.Participate in other projects and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating leadership and initiative.Essential SkillsExperience in baking and cooking.Knowledge of laboratory procedures and quality control testing.Proficiency in industrial baking, mixing, blending, and following SOPs.Ability to conduct pH testing and other quality assurance checks.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma required.Minimum 6 months of work experience in quality control within any industry.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
