We make everything from scratch and are consistently rated in the top 10 for college dining! We have our own butcher shop, bakeshop, and organic garden that all supply food to our two dining halls and three retail locations.
We are seeking a Baker to join our team at Thorne Dining Hall.
The Baker will prepare homemade baked products for campus dining halls, cash operations, and catering serving approximately 20,000 meals per week during the academic year and 7,000 during the summer months. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preparing bakery items—including muffins, cookies, breads, rolls, and desserts—by following approved recipes and production quality standards; also responsible for custom items for special diets, global cuisine, and catering Performing daily and weekly sanitation duties to maintain bakeshop area, equipment, and other areas of the dining operation Displaying items and storing all food per food safety guidelines and procedures Assisting with inventory and maintaining records (i.e., recipes, production reports, HACCP, and sanitation reports) Providing input to Head Baker regarding menu ideas, production, and service suggestions
Compensation: The pay rate for this position is $21.85 per hour. This role is eligible for overtime and shift/weekend differential Shift Differentials: 10% for 2nd shift, 15% for 3rd shift, plus an additional $1.00/hour for weekend hours New employees in Dining will receive a $500 sign-on bonus (½ paid at first check and ½ paid after 90 days of eligibility requirements are met)

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications in this posting to be considered for hire. Standard Work Days and Hours This is an onsite, full-time, academic year-round position, working 40 hours per week for 38 weeks per year (0.73 FTE). The role includes occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, and weather emergencies, as well as coverage during major college events such as Parents Weekend, Commencement, and Reunions. An academic year-round employee works from August through May and is not scheduled to work during winter, spring, or summer breaks. The regular work schedule for this position is Wednesday-Sunday: 4:30 am-12:30 pm Monday – Tuesday: Off
