Duration: 3 months

Are you passionate about structured process design and information flow in complex systems? This thesis focuses on analysing and designing an efficient and scalable Technical Query (TQ) management process, ensuring that customer technical requests are routed efficiently to the right stakeholders, tools, and data sources.

A challenging and practice-oriented thesis with high visibility and relevance in the Supportability and Customer Service domain

The opportunity to actively shape a core communication process between customers, engineering, and system support teams

Deep insights into aerospace industry structures, data systems, and stakeholder networks

Access to real use cases, tools and internal processes

Supervision by experienced process and systems engineers with regular feedback

Your tasks and responsibilities

Analysis of current handling of Technical Queries within the organization

Identification of typical TQ types, origins (e.g. customer, internal), and routing challenges

Mapping existing data flows, tools and decision points

Design of a structured TQ process model, including:

Stakeholder and system interface definition

Responsibility assignment (RACI matrix)

Data flow diagrams (DFD) and communication workflows

Development of recommendations for tool support or automation (e.g. ticketing, dashboards)

Documentation of the process and guidelines for implementation

 Desired skills and qualifications

Enrolled student (d/f/m) in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Informatics or related field

Knowledge in process modelling (e.g. UML) is highly beneficial

Interest in cross-functional collaboration, engineering support and information flows

Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Visio, Confluence, or process mapping software

Strong communication and analytical skills

Fluent English required, German is a plus
