Job Details:
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for working with livestock hogs which includes but is not limited to; Driving sorting weighing tattooing marking and penning of livestock while keeping accurate inventories and head counts; performing light building maintenance and showcase duties when not working with the livestock. This position requires moving hogs safely and effectively with minimum stress to the hog; must follow all humane handling guidelines as per policy; perform any other duties deemed appropriate by the supervisor. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one 1-year prior experience working with and handling livestock in loading and unloading operations as well as experience with skid loaders and forklift operation is required. Basic experience with livestock handling in a procurement area of the meat industry is preferred. Prior knowledge and experience with humane animal handling procedures process and general policy in the area of procurement is preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
Communication Skills: Good communication skills both written and verbal; ability to communicate with all levels of team members and government officials.
Special Skills: Must be able to work in a very fast paced environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 70 pounds or more unassisted and stand for extended periods of time 8 to 10 hours excluding beak time.
