**Position Overview:**
As a _AVP Regional Dean_ at Galen College of Nursing, you will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of all the programs and activities that support student education and retention at the campuses assigned. Provides the leadership necessary to fulfill the mission, objectives, plans and goals of the College. The AVP, Regional Dean is the academic leader is the academic leader responsible for leading, supervision, and mentoring, their assigned campus(es)deans and/or associate deans to ensure proper execution of the day-to-day campus academic operations, workload, staffing, clinical operations, simulation, and student support services.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Program Administrator**
1. May be designated as nursing program administrator role for regulatory agencies, state boards of nursing, and programmatic accreditors.
2. Serves as acting dean when campus dean unavailable.
**Outcomes**
1. Leads assigned campus’ academic leaders to build and maintain quality educational experiences to meet all College performance metrics related to academic outcomes, including but not limited to, NCLEX® pass rates, student retention, completion, satisfaction, and campus budgets.
2. Provides oversight to ensure campuses are properly and effectively implementing the College’s common curriculum and common assessment processes.
3. Provides oversight to ensure campuses achieve explicit goals identified in the College’s strategic plan and annual budget.
4. Along with Campus Deans, develops, maintains, and monitors fiscal resources and student outcomes to meet campus and regional budgetary goals.
5. Provides leadership to Campus Deans to ensure that students and graduates achieve the student learning outcomes, program outcomes, and role-specific graduate competencies.
6. Provides leadership to ensure that the systematic plan for evaluation is implemented.
7. Provides leadership to ensure that aggregated and trended evaluation findings are used to inform decision making for the maintenance and improvement of the student learning outcomes and program outcomes; shares these findings with communities of interest.
**Campus Academic Operations**
1. Leads campus deans/associate deans to ensure sufficient numbers of quality faculty are recruited, onboarded, evaluated, and retained to provide a world-class educational experience to students
2. Collaborates with campus academic and College leadership to support timely faculty work assignment determination, compensation, and evaluation and development of faculty.
3. Provides oversight to ensure the delivery of quality customer service to healthcare development program partners and ensures compliance with policies and procedures, ethical practices, and the guidelines of government and accrediting organizations.
4. Provides oversight to ensure continued compliance with all institutional and programmatic accreditations; federal and state standards, licensures, and approvals for assigned campuses.
5. Collaborates with College and campus leadership to create, support, and assess a shared organizational culture committed to high employee satisfaction and student success excellence.
6. Collaborates with the Executive Vice President & Provost in an advisory capacity regarding prelicensure issues and campus growth initiatives.
7. Engages with members of the healthcare community to gain insight about emerging nursing education and workforce needs.
8. Engages with community and nursing leaders to build collaborative relationships that help expand Galen’s nursing programs.
9. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
**Position Requirements:**

**Education:** Graduate degree in Nursing and a Doctoral Degree in nursing or a related field, from an accredited institution, required.
**Experience** : Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive leadership experience in campus operations and/or nursing education programs. Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and highly effective presentation skills. A strong working knowledge about nursing education, higher education policy, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards required. Ability to effectively and persuasively present strategic initiatives to industry leaders and senior management.
Licensure & Special Qualifications (where applicable): Per State Board of Nursing Requirements
Physical Requirements: Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment: Position requires mental activity, reading, planning, preparing, evaluating, and decision making. Physical demands in the classroom and office are minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as records, files, and books (10 pounds maximum).
Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, classroom projector, Scantron, and printer/scanner, occurs on a frequent basis.
Degree of Supervision: Minimal.
Travel will be required.
