**Summary** :
The Associate Vice President (AVP) Operations for UNC Medical Center is responsible for establishing direction and strategy for all areas of responsibility to optimally support the UNC Medical Center’s strategic priorities. They are responsible for implementing strategic plans across the UNCMC operations. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, they are accountable for the ongoing success and performance of the operations within the UNC Medical Center.
**Responsibilities** :
1. **Operations** - In collaboration with the Senior VP of Operations, they will establish direction and strategy for all areas of responsibility to optimally support the UNC Medical Center’s strategic priorities. Ensures the development, monitoring and sustainability of the infrastructure required to achieve cost effective, high quality, state-of-the-art, efficient service delivery systems across functional departments, including oversight of products, services, technology, environmental, safety, supplies, logistics and other resources within a defined scope of accountability. Assures ongoing implementation of service excellence strategies that distinguish the UNC Medical Center’s performance in the marketplace and advance the organization’s position as provider and employer of choice. Participates in the development and recommendation of the capital budget for the UNC Medical Center.

**Education Requirements:**
● Requires Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
**Licensure/Certification Requirements:**
● No licensure or certification required.
**Professional Experience Requirements:**
● Requires 10 years of progressively responsible experience and 7 years of management experience.
**Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:**
● Ability to communicate ideas and solutions in a clear, concise manner. Identifies problem areas and skill gaps proactively and addresses them appropriately. Excellent project management and change management skills for designing and implementing high priority department initiatives in a complex environment.
