General Summary:The AVP, Product Manager will play a key leadership role in Unum’s Long Term Care (LTC) transformation efforts. This position supports a major strategic initiative and involves leading a team of change management experts and driving operational readiness. The role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity, influences without formal authority, and operates effectively in a fast-paced, highly visible environment. This role demands a high level of adaptability, strong executive presence, and the ability to quickly build trust across the enterprise.Qualifications
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in transformation, product management, or related fields.Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with shifting priorities and evolving goals. The ideal candidate is adaptable, composed under pressure, and able to pivot quickly while maintaining focus and accountability.Strong influencing skills with the ability to “sell the work,” build trust, and gain alignment across business areas particularly in environments without formal authority.Proven executive presence and relationship-building capabilities with cross-functional stakeholders.Business insight, digital fluency, and a strategic mindset, with the ability to balance long-term planning and day-to-day execution.Experience leading complex transformation or business initiatives, ideally within insurance or product management environments.Alignment with key executive-level competencies: decision quality, action orientation, driving vision and purpose, resourcefulness, planning and prioritization, and persuasive communication.Key Responsibilities
Accountable for driving enterprise-wide transformation initiatives for the LTC businessLead cross-functional transformation initiatives aligned to Unum’s LTC strategy.Manage a team of up to five employees, providing structure, motivation, and accountability.Drive operational readiness and change management tied to the evolving LTC claims operating model.Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Operations, IT, Finance, and Claims.Deliver quick wins to build early credibility and trustShape strategic plans for 2026 while executing current initiatives (e.g., Pega delivery, wellness innovation pilots).Lead efforts involving vendor engagement, digital integrations, and downstream operational impacts.Proactively work with LTC Executive leadership to define strategy, source new ideas, and drive buy-in for solution-focused outcomesProactively identify and monitor value (financial, quality, market positioning, etc.) on a routine basisDaily Tasks

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$133,500.00-$274,100.00Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
