AVP, ERM Risk Accumulation

This position is with the Global Enterprise Risk Management group under the direction of the Chubb Chief Risk Officer, and is based in Philadelphia, PA or New York City.  The Enterprise Risk Management team is responsible for the collation and analysis of risk, including aggregation across business units and functions as well as research and analysis of emerging risks. The team assists Product Boards, Risk Committees and the Risk and Underwriting Committee in the review and oversight of Chubb’s insurance, financial, strategic and operational risks.

The candidate will oversee the end-to-end process for risk accumulation analyses, reports and presentations to the various Product Boards and Risk Committees, drive research on risk topics and create insights to inform Product Boards of their exposure.  The candidate will use insurance knowledge as well as general economic environment, legal environment knowledge to ensure that insights are relevant and timely. The candidate will collaborate with other functions within and outside of the Enterprise Risk Management team.  The candidate will collaborate with and/or manage onshore/offshore staff. 

 MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:                                             

Prepare and oversee end to end process for risk accumulation analyses, reports, and presentations to selected product boards and risk committees across Property and Casualty Lines. Preparation of various ERM analyses including emerging risk, stress scenario, competitor analysis, etc. Strong interpersonal skills to collaboratively work with colleagues across the Enterprise Risk Management team, as well as the broader organization, e.g. Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Corporate Catastrophe Solutions Improve and increase automation of the risk accumulation process, including collaboration and oversight of IT initiatives and leveraging data and capabilities across other Chubb areas Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time – including overseas locations – in order to manage risk management staff, participate in Product Board meetings or complete legal entity ORSAs. Bachelor's degree in economics, business, math/statistics, risk management, or related or quantitative field8+ year experience in risk management or related area.Solid understanding of risk characteristics of insurance coverages/products and reinsuranceStrong analytical skills and critical business thinking skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill and communicate key messages to an executive audienceCapacity to identify and assess potential risks, taking initiative to seek out internal resources or external data sources to do soStrong interpersonal skills to collaboratively work with colleagues in IT, Actuarial, Ceded Reinsurance, Catastrophe Modeling, Data Analytics, Underwriting and Claims. Excellent data manipulation and analytics skills with investigative mindset and attention to detail. Manage multiple projects concurrently, often to tight deadlinesHigh proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), work experience with SQL a plus.Experience with the following technologies preferred: R or Python, SQLShould have good organization skills and be able to maintain good documentation and record keeping
