About the Role:

Everest is seeking an AVP, Principal Enterprise Application Architect to join the Everest Information Technology Infrastructure department, located at the US headquarters in Warren, New Jersey.

 

The desired candidate will have an established track record of building high-quality enterprise solutions, be results-driven and bring strong architecture/engineering skills and a deep understanding of modern technologies including Cloud Engineering Standards & Practices, DevSecOps, CI/CD Pipelines, APIs, Infrastructure as Code and Agile Delivery Practices. Successful candidates must have worked in Microsoft Azure environments and have an excellent understanding of cloud concepts.  The candidate must possess strong technical aptitude, analytical skills, communications skills, and demonstrated great problem-solving ability.

This is a hybrid role (3 days in office/2 days remote) based in Warren, NJ office.

 

Responsibilities:

Accountable for the oversight of the application portfolio, including ideation and selection of enterprise platforms that are the right fit for Everest.  Drive rationalization and roadmap for applications in partnership with the Business architecture.

In close collaboration with the architecture community, help drive the application modernization program.

Identify and drive adoption of technical capabilities required to support gaps in current and new business capabilities and aligning with enterprise business drivers.

Oversee and guide solution design aligning to architecture best practices and integration patterns.

Maintain application ecosystem and technology and standards artifacts.

Create and enhance methods and practices for architecture functions to aid collaboration across ETS.

Manage technical debt, software lifecycle and risk mitigation across the enterprise.

Provide leadership, collaborate, and mentor delivery teams and solution architects.

 

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

Bachelor's Degree (required) or master’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

10+ years of overall technology experience in strategy, architecture, engineering, configuring and implementing software solutions and services.

5+ years of Software Engineering and Enterprise Architecture experience including engineering practices, tools and standards.  

Hands-on knowledge of current technology standards/trends coupled with a desire to continually expand personal knowledge/skills.

Domain knowledge of the Insurance Industry (preferably P&C) and value chain as well as the technologies and solutions relevant to this industry is desired.

Experience architecting Insurance suite of solutions like Guidewire or Insurity

Experience architecting document management and business process workflow systems like OpenText, SharePoint

Experience with cloud native integration technologies – messaging, streaming, APIs

Ability and interest in mentoring technical staff and raising our collective technical competencies.

Ability to establish and maintain relationships with other business and technology leaders.

Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to tailor communication to all levels of an organization.

Demonstrate strong ability to work in a team environment and foster cross-team collaboration.

Experience executing technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API Strategies

Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models

Recent experience working in a Scaled Agile environment with Agile tools, e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc. 

Current experience with Azure, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code and Containers 

Experienced with large scale technology platforms, Enterprise Integration Patterns, Test Automation and Security Platforms

Experience in defining and documenting coding standards and best practices.

Display strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principals and technology modernization.

Builds strong partnership with engineering teams to ensure proper alignment of skills with technology direction.

For NJ Only: The base salary range for this position is $173,000 - $215,300 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
