SUMMARY:

Oversee staff, process, and compliance to ensure timely and accurately administration of Credit Bureau Reporting and Disputes.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviewing the company’s credit bureau reporting and ensuring compliance with Metro 2, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and Regulation V, and other applicable laws and regulations.Overseeing and managing the company’s credit dispute function and team. Responsibilities will specifically include investigating indirect and direct disputes, reviewing internal account information and activity, documenting findings, transmitting any changes required, and drafting responses using preapprove form letters according to company policies and procedures.Collaboration and communication across various departments to resolve disputes as well as identify root causes of reporting discrepancies and request implementation of corrective actions to systems and policy.Proactively pursue training through attendance at industry conferences and webinars to develop knowledge and remain up to date on changes and trends in the credit reporting industry. Coach, develop, and support credit reporting team.Participate in company projects and initiatives to advise on potential credit reporting implications and solutions on an as needed basis.Identifies and recommends process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance productivity and operational efficiencyMaintain strong vendor relationships within all managed areas especially credit reporting agencies.Participate on assigned internal committees (i.e. Compliance Committee)

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree or comparable education and related training and work experience.5+ years experience in financial services companies with emphasis in credit bureau reporting and dispute management and resolution.2+ years of staff management experienceSignificant detailed experience with credit bureau reporting and dispute handling compliance including knowledge of e-OSCAR, Metro 2 standards, Credit Reporting Resource Guide, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and Regulation VProficient with loan calculations (i.e. APR, rate, term, etc)Familiarity with financial services regulatory requirements at the federal and state levelTravel for continuing educationPrepare and present training materials concisely and effectivelyManage multiple projects efficientlyIdentification, review and evaluation of historical financial and transactional data at all levels (loan, branch, company)Good interpersonal skills with both internal stakeholders at all management levels and external vendorsProficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel software/system applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with Case Central or similar credit dispute management softwareExperience with eOscar portal for credit disputesExperience with project management toolsCDIA FCRA Certification

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $83,900 - $109,200 annually, based on the specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Experience of the selected candidate.

This position is eligible for Semi Annual Incentive compensation based on individual and company performance guidelines.
