 •    The Associate Vice President, Compliance, Privacy, Program Governance and Operations leads and provides oversight of teams responsible for executing various RCM and Privacy program accountabilities globally that inform and influence Privacy's governance, operating model and adherence to the TD Compliance Department Mandate and Enterprise RCM Framework. 
 •    Provides strategic direction, insights and thought leadership for Privacy's horizontal regulatory compliance program. 
 •    Maintains expert knowledge of relevant privacy LRRs and Privacy's Oversight Function accountabilities under TD's Enterprise RCM Program. 
 •    Leads, coaches, and manages a high performing team on delivery of Compliance programs including though hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required.
 •    Supports in transformational projects and initiatives that focus on enhancing Privacy and/or Compliance programs (e.g., Road to Strong). 
 •    Manages and leads teams responsible for: 

Provides strategic direction, insights and thought leadership for Privacy's horizontal regulatory compliance program. 

Maintains expert knowledge of relevant privacy LRRs and Privacy's Oversight Function accountabilities under TD's Enterprise RCM Program. 

Leads, coaches, and manages a high performing team on delivery of Compliance programs including though hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required.

Supports in transformational projects and initiatives that focus on enhancing Privacy and/or Compliance programs (e.g., Road to Strong). 

Manages and leads teams responsible for: 

Executing various components of TD's RCM program and leading RCM activities with a global reach, including self-reflection, attestations, and Privacy assessments (i.e., Program Effectiveness and RCM Risk Assessment), in coordination with the jurisdictional Privacy Offices. Coordinate responses to requests from Compliance Program Management (CPM) teams (e.g., QA/QC, RCM Framework and Standards reviews). 

Regulatory change, including ownership of the Global Privacy Regulatory Change Procedure and processes and engaging with jurisdictional Privacy Change Leads to identify, analyze, notify, assess, and oversee Risk Owner implementation of regulatory change. Secure regulatory program support for material regulatory change and act as a Regulatory Advisor supporting such programs. 

Processes to complement and overlay oversight practices, aggregating and analyzing outcomes of RCM activities to effectively provide a horizontal and comprehensive view of the control environment for privacy regulatory compliance across the enterprise and influence Privacy's strategic direction and priorities. Privacy Insights and Reporting team, will provide robust insights to Privacy and other stakeholders to help drive strategic focus and help address regulatory requirements and issues. This will include performing data analysis and reporting activities through identification of relevant datasets, development of risk metrics and the application of reporting and visualization tools.

Providing routine and regular reporting of privacy matters including regulatory non-compliance, emerging trends, and risks; responsible for reporting to key stakeholders, Senior Management and escalating as appropriate. Includes maintenance of reporting on Key Risk Indicators to Operational Risk Management (ORM) and contributions to the CCO Opinion, CPM regular reporting and responding to Compliance and other ad requests (e.g, Dow Jones Index, Code of Conduct, ESG Reports).

Further developing a deeper and more enriched reporting structure and regular distribution to senior management, partners, and Board Committees, with dashboards and metrics as appropriate together with emerging trends and risks, for the Privacy program from a global perspective, with input from the jurisdictional Privacy Offices.

Monitoring and Testing (M&T), including developing and deepening Privacy's monitoring program to meet RCM and operational requirements, oversee M&T and Issues management, as required.

Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) engagement including owning the relationship with TPRM, performing risk-based oversight and challenge through privacy related Control Assessments, and leading the annual review of Legal's key contract standards, all with the engagement of jurisdictional Privacy Offices, as appropriate.

Developing and maintaining Privacy's global governance documentation including the Global Privacy Policy and other global standards, guidelines, procedures, etc.  

Owning and managing Privacy's enterprise risk assessment tools (e.g., Privacy Impact Assessment, Privacy Event Management), including development, maintenance, and upgrades as required, and maintain Technology relationship.

Training including managing L&D engagements for Privacy owned mandatory enterprise training (i.e., Privacy at TD, Anti-Spam Legislation at TD) and developing other specialized training and communications (e.g., material regulatory change, employee onboarding), where required. 

Development and maintenance of Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) measures for the new 'Privacy Risk' major risk subcategory under TD's Enterprise Risk Framework.  

Internal Audit (IA) engagement responses lead, including driving and coordinating global Internal Audit requests/responses. Manage IA outcomes and remediations as they relate to Privacy Program Governance and Operations, and leading and coordinating cross jurisdictional remediation, as appropriate. 

Coordinating and facilitating Privacy Forums (with Privacy Designates and Compliance partners globally) and Global Privacy Team Meetings. Includes establishing robust agendas, scheduling, and developing presentation materials, with engagement from jurisdictional Privacy Offices. Establishing and maintaining a new Privacy Executive Forum. 

Risk and control partner engagement, including developing and maintaining strong relationships with other key functions (e.g., ORM, DRM, EP) that Privacy partners with across TD, including senior Compliance leaders, to facilitate Privacy's interaction and engagement models for governance and operations, and regular reporting.

Contributing to the continuous evolution and enrichment of Privacy Program Strategy and Priorities with a global lens and input from jurisdictional Privacy Offices.

Job Requirements:

•    10+ years of Compliance Industry experience and expert knowledge of privacy laws, regulations, and practice 
•    Strong Leadership and People Management experience and skills
•    Expert communicator and relationship builder, with ability to work independently, think critically and make decisions
•    University degree required: Post Graduate degree preferred (preferably in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related quantitative field)
•    Demonstrated thought leadership and technical expertise in data science both through internal and external initiatives, including previous experience overseeing AI systems
•    Strong sense of personal ownership for effectively bridge technical and non-technical disciplines and stakeholders, and track record of doing so 
•    Familiarity with regulations and compliance strategies and risk management; possesses and demonstrates expertise in the advisory, policy, change management, project management and operations 
•    Highest personal and professional integrity and standards to advance TD's vision and protect the brand
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking/presentation skills and well developed listening and negotiation skills at all levels
•    People leadership and management experience focused on talent development and coaching to nurture a high performing team
•    Advances TD's leadership development, colleague experience & diversity agenda
•    Strong relationship building and negotiation skills and the ability to interact with sensitivity and leadership to advance and influence the culture Compliance aims to promote 
•    Transparent communicator and respected TD representative, both internally and externally
