Position Summary:As an Avionics Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing maintenance, testing, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations of avionics systems on transport category aircraft. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities: Perform avionics maintenance, testing, and repairs after reviewing and interpreting technical data Conduct inspections and operational checks on a wide variety of aircraft systems Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements Interface with engineering teams including Airframe, Structural, Mechanical Systems, Interior, Avionics, and Electrical Design Engineers Install aircraft wiring and modify systems as needed Order parts and materials with supervisor or lead approval Ensure all work is completed in accordance with FAA regulations and company standards Maintain proper documentation and follow safety procedures at all times Qualifications: A&P and/or FCC license preferred (not required) Minimum of 5 years of avionics experience with transport category aircraft At least 3 years of aircraft electrical modification and troubleshooting experience Technical school degree or military avionics background is a plus Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Must be able to pass a 10-year background check and drug screening U.S. work authorization required Valid passport and ability to travel internationally is a plus Skills & Abilities: Strong understanding of aircraft electrical systems and avionics installations/modifications Basic knowledge of FARs governing aircraft maintenance Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Skilled in the use of electrical hand tools and testing equipment Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Professional demeanor and appearance About STS Technical Services:STS Technical Services is a Top 100 Staffing Firm that partners with some of the largest names in the aerospace, manufacturing, defense, and industrial industries.
