Overview We are seeking a full-time Aviation Programs Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 in our Olathe, KS location. The Aviation Programs team's mission is to work with our original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners to successfully integrate and certify sophisticated avionics systems into their aircrafts. To accomplish this, the program management team works collaboratively with the OEM and various cross functional teams at Garmin (hardware, software, flight test, certification, product support, marketing/sales, operations, manufacturing, etc) to support the pursuit, definition, design, integration, and certification of complex integrated flight decks. In the role, you will have the opportunity to develop skills in areas such as program planning/execution, customer management, issue management, systems engineering, product strategy and roadmap development. Essential Functions Work with customers/Garmin engineers by assisting with development of avionics solutions Collect information regarding required product functionality, installation, operating environment, and interfaces Collaborate with Garmin customers to refine aircraft specific requirements so they can be allocated among integrated subsystems and developed to meet final product objectives Serve as a primary Garmin point of communication for our OEM customers regarding a given set of programmatic issues or requirements Work with a Garmin cross-functional team consisting of software, hardware, and systems engineers to fulfill deliverable commitments to our OEM customers Support internal teams in reviews, change management, and drafting of OEM notifications Develop and deliver technical presentations to internal or external stakeholders Perform hands-on bench testing of select interfaces or functionality Basic Qualifications Completed coursework in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent education or experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Experience and/or training in working with cross functional teams Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and strong analytical skills Other education and/or experiences as required for the specific projects being developed Desired Qualifications Previous experience working with avionics products and/or designing electrical systems Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) Pilot’s License Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
