As a team leader, the worker will be responsible to:
-Provide support to the local center of excellence leader for mechanical and electrical auxiliary design team.
-Manage/hire mechanical and electrical auxiliary engineering resources (internal and external) and assignments within projects.
-Support project engineering managers on project start-up and during execution phase in terms of deliverables, resources, planning and budget.
-Support generator center of excellence leader for schedule and budget validation of project during tendering phase.
-Coach and assist newcomers within auxiliary team for them to gain autonomy.
-Manage the team in order to deliver design work packages for installed based projects using technical guidelines, feedback of experience (FOE).
-Collaborate with other engineering COEs (Center Of Excellence) worldwide.
-Support generator center of excellence leader with approval of auxiliary detail design reviews.
-Ensure that mechanical and electrical auxiliary design engineers apply rules and concepts for reliability, quality, safety and cost.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited university or collegeMinimum of 10 years’ experience in mechanical or electrical auxiliary system design or design management.5 years of people leader experienceExperience in hydro industryExperience and ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-locational environment;Ability to travelFluent in English (speaking and writing)Preferred Qualifications/Characteristics:
Bilingual French and EnglishExperience in design of auxiliary systems (mechanical or electrical) for hydro turbine and generator unitsPro-activeness, sense of urgency, autonomy.Established communication and leadership skills;Good analytical skillsTeam player, positive, willingness to learn & adapt to business needsThe salary range for this position is $111,200.00-$185,400.00 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
