Automotive Repair Technician B

The primary duties of the Car Care Repair Technician B are to:

Perform a wide range of repairs including engine repair, automatic and manual transmission/transaxle diagnosis and repair, suspension and steering, brake systems (including ABS/traction control), electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, and engine performance.Accurately complete repairs and maintenance on all vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and accepted industry practices.Maintain and enhance specialized skills and technical knowledge to adapt to diverse repair tasks.Read and utilize technical bulletins and attend automotive meetings, classes, and seminars as recommended by management.Organize work assignments and plans for optimal efficiency, including vehicle movement and task prioritization.Maintain a clean and well-organized work area and adheres to safety procedures and proper tool and equipment maintenance.Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including repair orders, electronic multi point inspections and state and emission inspection documentation.Review repair orders with Service Advisors to ensure all requested repairs are completed and obtain customer approval for additional repairs.Verify the completion of repairs by re-testing systems and conducting road tests to ensure proper function.Return vehicles in clean condition, avoiding disturbance to personal property unless necessary for repairs.Maintain awareness of AAA’s products and services to enhance member and client experiences, contributing to repeat business and sales.May mentor other Technicians and Service Associates, sharing expertise and supporting their professional development.Assist the CCIT Team in exceeding Customer Satisfaction and Quality scores while meeting productivity goals.Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operational goals and ensure high standards of service.

    

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent required. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience as an Automotive Technician required.National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or car dealer certification in at least three categories to include: Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Heating and Air Conditioning, or the equivalent knowledge and experience with the ability to attain the required certifications within 12 months of hire required. State Safety and Emissions Inspectors license - as required by state location is preferred.R134A recycling certificate required.Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.This job title is classified as “Safety Sensitive” in accordance with Connecticut and Oklahoma state law.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of automotive electronic systems.Effective organizational and analytical skills.Effective written and oral communication skills.Ability to accurately repair vehicles using advanced automotive diagnostic equipment and provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians.Ability to operate passenger vehicles and light- and medium-duty trucks with automatic and manual transmissions.Ability to train and mentor other Repair Technicians and Service Associates.Demonstrated ability to respond to customer inquiries and refer customers to the associates who can best assist them.
