Automotive Mechanic
Position Details Advertising/Posting Title Automotive Mechanic Posting Summary Responsible for repairs and maintenance of trucks, cars, and all types of equipment brought into shop and located on campus. Access information utilizing appropriate software applications. Promote a workplace that encourages safety within the field and in the shop. This position reports to the Transportation Services Supervisor and receives functional supervision from the Lead Auto Mechanic. This position requires active engagement in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience. Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) High school diploma and completion of formal apprenticeship and three years specific experience required. Experience in all phases of mechanical repairs including diesel, gas and 2 and 4 cycle engines. Ability to diagnose electrical problems and understand electronic components in equipment, including Electric Vehicles. Proficiency in acetylene and arc welding. Computer skills for diagnostics required. Valid driver’s license and driver check required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of physical screening. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) while performing specific job tasks.
