We assist Minnesotans who are blind, DeafBlind, losing vision, or who have another disability that makes it difficult to read print. This position exists to provide intermittent driver services to staff or customers of State Services for the Blind. The incumbent will transport SSB staff, customers or equipment to and from meetings and outreach activities. This position will be based out of the St. Paul office. This is an intermittent position and will work hours based on operational needs. This position requires local and regional daytime travel with occasional overnights throughout the State of Minnesota. Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following: + Ability to drive staff and customers in a safe and comfortable manner. + Knowledge of basic vehicle care and maintenance. + Customer service skills to provide prompt, courteous service to customers. + Ability to coordinate and maintain a schedule. + Incumbent must maintain valid driver's license and insurance. **Preferred Qualifications** + Ability to describe graphs, charts, illustrations, and pictures or other materials accurately and sufficiently to blind staff or customers to ensure accurate comprehension. + Our employees are dedicated to ensuring cultural responsiveness.
