The Automation Test Engineer (Quality Engineer) manages the defect lifecycle, performs root cause analysis, and delivers quality insights through key metrics such as Defect Leakage and MTTD/MTTR. The role also involves integrating performance and security testing into CI/CD pipelines, supporting QA efforts across project releases, and collaborating with teams to uphold Globe’s quality standards and continuous improvement culture.
Embed Shift-Left Testing Practices
Collaborate early in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure quality is built in from the start.

Test Planning and Design
Define and document test scenarios and test cases aligned with business and technical requirements.
Design testing approaches that incorporate functional and non-functional testing needs.
Test Automation
Develop and maintain automation scripts for UI, API, and mobile platforms.
Ensure automation coverage targets are met (e.g., 80% minimum).
Utilize reusable, maintainable, and scalable automation frameworks.
Test Execution and Management
Execute test cases (manual and automated) during various test phases (unit, integration, system, regression).
Manage test data creation and coordinate test environment readiness.
Monitor and log test results and ensure traceability to requirements.
Defect Management
Identify, log, track, and retest defects.
Lead root cause analysis and support teams in resolving issues.
Prevent recurrence through continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Non-Functional Testing
Integrate performance and security testing into the delivery pipeline.
Leverage tools for load, stress, and vulnerability testing.
CI/CD Integration
Contribute to the implementation of automated tests in CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure quality gates are enforced for stable and reliable deployments.
Reporting and Metrics
Track and report key quality metrics (e.g., Defect Leakage, Mean Time to Detect [MTTD], Mean Time to Repair [MTTR]).
Provide test progress updates and quality insights to stakeholders.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders.
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to optimize testing processes and tools.
Adopt best practices in quality engineering and stay current with emerging trends.
