Automation Test Engineer

Description

In this role, you’ll strengthen your expertise in automation, DevSecOps, and public sector digital transformation while ensuring the quality, security, and reliability of critical applications and integrations. We are seeking a motivated Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts, working closely with developers, business analysts, product managers, and client stakeholders in an Agile/DevSecOps environment to deliver high-quality, compliant, and user-friendly solutions.
 

Job Location: Remote, U.S.

What You Will Do:

Develop and maintain automated test scripts to validate application functionality, performance, and security.

Perform manual and exploratory testing with a focus on identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.

Execute and evaluate manual and automated test cases, reporting results and collaborating on defect resolution.

Facilitate test plan and case reviews with cross-functional, bilingual teams (English/Spanish).

Support all aspects of user acceptance testing (UAT) with the client and local workforce partners, ensuring test environments mirror production.

Develop and maintain automated regression test scripts for critical modules, including AI/ML features, data integrations, and security controls

Isolate, replicate, and report defects, verifying fixes and ensuring traceability.

Create clear, detailed, and auditable test plans and documentation to support compliance (e.g., NIST, WIOA).

Liaise with development and DevSecOps teams to assist with troubleshooting, CI/CD pipeline integration, and secure deployment.

Contribute to technical discussions about system features, data exchange, and interoperability.

Assist with documentation to facilitate third-party developer integration and support.

Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

What You Will Bring with You:

Candidate must reside in the U.S, be authorized to work in the U.S., and perform all work in the U.S./Puerto Rico.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems or related technology field.

3 + years of hands-on experience testing APIs (RESTful), integrations, web applications (Java and/or Python), and cloud-based applications.

3 + years of experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines using version control systems (Azure DevOps preferred), Git, and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).

3 + years of experience with performance, load, and security testing.
 

What We Would Like You to Bring with You:

Proficiency in automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG).

Understanding of Agile, DevSecOps, and secure software development practices.

Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, testing types, and best practices.

Familiarity with accessibility and security testing, including WCAG and Section 508 compliance.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) communication skills strongly preferred.

Knowledge of workforce development, WIOA, or public sector modernization projects.

Understanding of AI/ML-powered features, data validation, and explainable AI testing.

Experience testing in Microsoft Azure environments (App Services, AKS, Azure SQL, API Management).

Experience with containerized applications and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

Familiarity with automated document processing, OCR, and intelligent search.

Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).

Understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$67,020.00 - $113,934.00
