Automation Systems Manager
1st Shift
Summary
Key management role responsible for Automation Systems at the Plasma Logistics Centers. Responsibilities include duties associated with all Grifols PLCs automated systems and the ability to perform related tasks. This position is expected to provide leadership, coordination, and oversight of work schedules for the Automation Systems team. Assure the highest level of compliance, safety, and conformance to procedures as specified by SOP's, cGMP's, and Osha standards.
Education
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in one of the sciences, business administration, engineering, or some other related field is a bonus.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of previous supervisory experience in logistics, warehousing, materials inventory planning, or distribution (preferably relating to raw plasma) is required for this level. Also required are, Technical automation skills, basic operating skills for robotic equipment, conveyor systems and Automated Storage and Retrieval System.
Primary Responsibilities
Systems owner of Warehouse Management System, PLC conveyor systems, and Robotic material handling systems. Responsible for continuous system and process improvements for all automation systems.
Interview, hire, train, and directly manage employees in the Automation Systems group. Monitor performance, employee relations, and quality standards to ensure effective work team performance is maintained.
Establish departmental performance objectives and measurements and verifies the creation of metrics, efficiency reports, key performance indicators (KPIs).
Manages and develops departmental budgets and manages expenses and operations within established parameters.
Accountable and responsible for all cold storage and retrieval of plasma inventories.
Develop and maintain departmental SOPs in accordance with regulatory agency and company requirements. Ensure procedures accurately reflect the processes that are currently being performed.
Coordinate and provide oversight to all inventory transactions relating to the storage and movement of raw plasma. Maintain inventory accuracy levels and perform weekly cycle counts.
Partner with internal customers including Quality, Plasma Operations, Logistics, Engineering and Validation on various issues that may be related to the storage and handling of pallets and cases.
Work with Facilities/Maintenance group (Mechanical, electrical, and PCS) to ensure all automated equipment issues are evaluated properly and the correct resources are allocated for a resolution.
Also, direct involvement in troubleshooting and repair of all automation equipment is required.
Lead or assist in various projects related to all automation equipment in order to improve function in an efficient manner. Projects will be determined by business needs or as directed by management.
Additional Responsibilities
Provide input on system and process improvements that will provide benefits for the operational area in which they are assigned. Develop project plans and oversee the implementation of projects that will impact their area of supervision. Facility Safety Representative.
KSAs
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes related to raw plasma, inventory controls, and strong knowledge of cGMP's and other regulatory requirements. Must demonstrate leadership and independent decision making capabilities, have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and possess a high level of urgency. The ability to adapt to changing priorities is essential.
