Job Summary
As an Automation SCADA Engineer you will design, build, and commission high\u2011availability SCADA solutions for critical infrastructure projects including large scale hyperscale and colocation data\u2011center campuses (10\u202FMW\u202F\u2013\u202F200\u202FMW+). Working under our Senior SCADA Engineer, you'll turn PLC tag maps into intuitive HMIs, historian records, and actionable dashboards that keep critical facilities online 24\u202F×\u202F7.
Essential Functions
SCADA Development (60%)
+ Build Ignition Perspective / Vision projects, UDTs, and templates
+ Develop Python/SQL scripts, transaction groups, and alarming strategies
+ Implement redundant gateways, store\u2011and\u2011forward, and MQTT data pipelines
Integration and Commissioning (20%)
+ Generate tag maps and naming conventions; connect BACnet/IP, Modbus\u202FTCP, OPC\u202FUA, and MQTT devices
+ Support Factory\u202FAcceptance\u202FTesting (FAT) and Site\u202FAcceptance\u202FTesting (SAT)
+ Troubleshoot comms, security, and historian issues during Level\u202F4/5 Integrated\u202FSystems\u202FTesting
Standards and Continuous Improvement (10%)
+ Contribute to Ignition project standards and cybersecurity hardening checklists (ISA/IEC\u202F62443)
+ Contribute to QC checklists and process improvements
Collaboration and Reporting (10%)
+ Coordinate with PLC, networking, and commissioning teams
+ Produce weekly progress reports, punch\u2011list logs, and KPI dashboards
+ Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget
Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned
Requirements
Position Requirements (Advanced level for all the following)
+ UI design for BAS / EPMS solutions
+ UDT development and testing
+ Systems integration using standard Protocols: OPC\u202FUA, BACnet/IP, Modbus\u202FTCP, MQTT (Sparkplug\u202FB)
+ Python scripting, transaction groups, and gateway redundancy
+ Platform solution architecture including licensing, module selection and SMA support options
+ Source control (Git), ticketing (Jira/Azure\u202FDevOps), basic Linux/Windows server admin
+ Soft Skills: Clear client\u2011facing communication, rapid decision\u2011making, and calm execution in schedule\u2011compressed environments.
+ Knowledge of VLANs, LANs, VPNs and RSTP
+ Knowledge of IoT and smart building solutions
+ Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
+ Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
+ Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
+ Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
+ Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
+ Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
+ Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
+ Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
+ Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
+ Ability to plan effectively and delegate the work of others
+ Ability to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as / if required
+ Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

+ Frequently descending / ascending stairs and ladders to access equipment
+ On occasion the employee may be required to position self under or over equipment
+ On occasion the employee may move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Travel / Relocation Requirements
+ Up to 50%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states
+ Must be located near a major airport.
+ Effective May 7, 2025, and in accordance with U.S. federal regulations for domestic air travel, a valid REAL ID (or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport) is required for travel associated with this position.
+ Travel may involve transportation by car or plane depending on the destination and nature of the business need.
+ International travel may be required based on individual skill, training and project needs
+ Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
+ Potential relocation opportunities may exist per project needs
Education / Experience Requirements
+ Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
PLUS
+ 4+\u202Fyrs hands-on SCADA development experience in mission critical / industrial automation projects using Ignition platform
+ Certifications:\u202FIgnition 8.1 Gold Certified
