Goal of position: Automation - PLC programmer
The PLC Programmer is a critical role within the Automation department, responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining programmable logic controllers (PLCs) that drive our automated manufacturing processes. This position requires a deep understanding of PLC programming languages and control systems, ensuring the seamless operation of machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and a knack for troubleshooting to optimize system performance and reliability.
In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and automation technicians to develop and implement control strategies that enhance operational efficiency. You will be tasked with debugging, testing, and documenting PLC programs while also providing support during installation and commissioning phases. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring that all automation systems operate in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Formal prerequisites for the position Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. 2+ years of experience Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block). Familiarity with different PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi). Strong understanding of automation processes and control systems. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficiency networks (profibus, profinet, modbus, ASI). Proficiency decentralized industrial devices. Proficiency electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic plans reading. Proficiency safety integrated programming in PLC and robotics in any program and language. Proficiency HMI, HMI unified SCADA. Proficiency addressing domain in industrial networks and decentralized peripherals Proficiency in scaling and reading of sensors in industrial network protocols such as IOLink Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively. Willingness to support flexible working hours when required. Availability to work flexible hours or on-call as needed. LenguagesB2 or higher recognized certification to demonstrate the level of English, such as TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, etc.
Description of main tasks: Develop, program, and optimize PLC software for automation systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define control requirements and strategies. Test and debug PLC programs to ensure they meet performance specifications. Document control programs, system configurations, and changes made during the project lifecycle. Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning of automation systems. Conduct system performance analyses and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency. Provide training and support for operational personnel regarding PLC operations. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and troubleshooting of automation systems In addition to the duties listed above, the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by his/her superior that are essentially related to his/her duties.
