Job Description

The Position

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping Organon’s digital future by advancing automation initiatives across our cloud and emerging tech stack. You will work hands-on to design, implement, and scale solutions that drive operational excellence, increase agility, and support enterprise-wide innovation. This is a highly visible individual contributor role that blends deep technical expertise with a practical understanding of business priorities.

You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders across commercial, data, and technology teams to deploy automation solutions that accelerate delivery and enhance scalability. Your work will directly impact Organon’s ability to meet business goals with speed, precision, and efficiency.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Automation & Infrastructure Optimization

Design and implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions to standardize cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, monitoring frameworks, and self-service tools that improve developer productivity and reduce operational toil.

Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and observability using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and native cloud services.

Partner with security and compliance teams to integrate policy-as-code and automate governance.

AI, ML & Emerging Tech Integration

Support the deployment of AI/ML pipelines and automation frameworks that enhance commercial operations (e.g., HCP engagement, analytics workflows).

Enable the integration of emerging tech into cloud environments, ensuring seamless scale and performance.

Automate data and model workflows to support marketing and customer value initiatives.

Operational Efficiency & Scalability

Identify bottlenecks in the tech delivery lifecycle and design solutions to improve time-to-market.

Leverage automation to reduce manual processes across commercial tech platforms, improving agility and reliability.

Champion DevOps and FinOps practices that align automation with business value and cost transparency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with architects, product managers, and analysts to translate business needs into scalable technical automation solutions.

Contribute to the broader technology strategy by prototyping and demonstrating next-gen automation capabilities.

Share knowledge and mentor peers in automation best practices, tooling, and infrastructure design.


Required Education, Experience, and Skills   

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience & Skills:

6+ years of experience in cloud engineering, automation, or DevOps roles.

Advanced proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).

Demonstrated experience automating cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in an enterprise setting.

Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).

Familiarity with AI/ML lifecycle tooling (MLflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI) is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex automation initiatives.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

Preferred:

Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience.

Hands-on experience with FinOps or cloud cost optimization through automation.

Background in regulated environments with focus on security, governance, and compliance automation.
