Job Profile Summary
The Automation Engineer Sr plays a critical role in driving process efficiency within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Operational Excellence Office. This role is responsible for designing, developing and deploying automation solutions that streamline business processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational performance across the Corporate Risk organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation technologies, technical languages, and process optimization. In this role, the Automation Engineer Sr will collaborate with cross-functional risk teams to analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Job Description
Partner closely with business, risk and technology teams to identify automation opportunities, implement scalable solutions, and support the ERM Operational Excellence Office’s transformation strategy. Design, develop, and deploy tailored solutions to meet specific needs across the Corporate Risk organization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Partner with the Process Improvement Consultants and Segment stakeholders to integrate automation into Lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Participate in process mapping sessions and/or governance documentation reviews to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and automation opportunities.
+ Translate business requirements to technical requirements and consult with other technical teams to identify the optimal solution.
+ Lead technical delivery and continuously improve automation and analytic solutions following a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
+ Design, develop, and deploy Tableau visualizations and Python automation queries across multiple risk departments.
+ Track and report on automation performance, ROI, and operational impact.
+ Coach teams on best automation practices techniques. Leads other automation engineers through tactical problems.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
+ 5+ years technical experience (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
+ Must be self-motivated and tenacious, thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and complete tasks to agreed schedules.
+ Proven ability to work in a team environment, building relationships, and establishing trust.
+ Experience in a bank’s Operational Excellence, Risk Management or Technology function.
+ Experience working within an Agile framework including development of roadmaps, backlog prioritization, and sprints.
+ Demonstrated ability to convey ideas verbally and/or in writing with a clear, concise, organized, and articulate style using a format appropriate for target audience.
+ Familiarity with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio) and methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
+ Working knowledge of financial services processing and/or Archer GRC tool.
+ Proficient with MS Office Applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
+ Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job.

Compensation Range:
$70,000-$140,000 annual salary
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
