Automation Engineer - CMO Support Device Manufacturing

Indianapolis Device Manufacturing (IDM) is an external facing team responsible for the manufacturing of medical devices and the delivery of the custom assembly equipment used as part of the manufacturing process.  This role will provide automation support, implement, and improve process automation solutions for contract manufacturers.  The position requires a high learning agility and requires you to have experience working with coordinated automation manufacturing systems to support and troubleshoot.

Responsibilities/ Key Objectives:

Maintain and support automation systems for the areas they are assigned. Provide Lilly front line support to control system users at contract manufacturers, run and troubleshoot control systems problems, provide solutions and implement actions. Maintain process validations including computer system validation. In addition to creation, execution, and coordination of validation activities in unison with contract manufacturers and process engineers.Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC) for high-speed assembly lines, HMI, other control systems such as manufacturing execution systems (MES), perform activities in accordance with cGMPs and applicable global and local procedures.Collaborate with process team members for suggested solutions or adjustments, as needed. Coordinate/Lead cross-functional/Cross-site/Cross-company engineering project teams, as needed.Keep current on training required for Lilly computer systems quality policies and procedures.Communicate to supervision and non-conformance or risk that could affect the validated state of our control systems or processes. Manufacturing practices and good documentation practices.Experience using and/or supporting automation technologies in an IT/OT manufacturing environment.Assist on joint process teams for new devices assembly lines with focus on OEE.Experience configuring and troubleshooting data historian issues.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Required. Prefer In Engineering or Engineering Related Field.2+ Years Automation Experience Preferred, preferably in manufacturing production/operations

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$64,500 - $167,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
