The Automation Engineer will help develop, manage and execute plans for deploying changes, improving reliability and performance, boarding user groups, and improving the services provided by the technology team that supports software development tools.
What you will do
Contribute as a senior DevOps team member focused on modernization and automation
Be a champion for DevOps principles and culture change
Be responsible for working on building, automating, and supporting application and infrastructure deployment services that target Equifax’s Public Cloud Environments.
Design and implement monitoring and self-healing processes
Identify and Implement Process Improvements and documentation
Design and implement orchestration/workflows that integrate multiple services to provide self-service fully automated services.
Utilize engineering and programming skills focused on enabling a DevOps model
Configuration and change management
Develop and document operations run books
Lead and develop team from a technical and managerial perspective
Participate in and provide feedback on systems engineering and design
Provide input on the future execution of the delivery and management of environments with a strong emphasis on automation, security, scalability and resilience
What experience you need
BS or Associate's Degree/Technical Certification or equivalent job experience required
5-7 years of directly related experience
Experience managing project costs, schedules, scope, and risk, with appropriate reporting of status and variance.
Working knowledge of Google Suite Tools, Confluence and JIRA
Experience with scripting tools
Software development experience in 2 or more languages (NodeJS, Python, PowerShell, Go, C#, Java)
Excellent verbal, written and ‘attention to detail’ skills
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal and time management skills
A basic understanding of infrastructure and application components
A sound understanding of SDLC Methodologies including Scrum and Agile Principles
Excellent collaboration skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams including Infrastructure Services, Business Technology, Security and Operations and facilitate conversations that lead to agreed direction
Ability and desire to work with people all over the world, with the probability of a varying work schedule to accommodate different time zones
What could set you apart
Experience using tools/technologies to develop infrastructure as code (IAC) such as Terraform
Experience using or integrating CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, GitHub (repo management, Actions, Workflows), Sonar, Nexus
Experience designing/developing Policy as Code
Experience in system administration for OS (Linux, Windows) and/or middleware (web servers, application servers, database, etc)
Experience working in a hybrid cloud environment or transforming applications from on-premise data centers to public cloud
Experience with one or more Public Cloud Providers (Google or Amazon)
