The Automation Engineer is responsible for collaborating with Maintenance and Production teams to maximize safety and optimize Nucor Rebar Fabrication processes. Basic Job Functions: + Training team members across locations to support consistent performance and knowledge sharing. + Using engineering principles, algorithms and techniques to trouble shoot and improve both the process and equipment. + Developing and implementing improvement plans involving both hardware and software systems. + Providing support outside of normal business hours as needed, including flexible scheduling for unscheduled and scheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays. + Assisting with regional maintenance initiatives and supporting cross-site collaboration. + Adapting to evolving responsibilities as assigned by the area Supervisor/Manager in response to operational needs. + Traveling regularly to other regional NRF locations to identify improvement opportunities, resolve issues, and share best practices. + Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
