For our client’s project on a refinery site in Croatia we are urgently searching for several Automation Engineers.

As an Automation Engineer on the client side, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and functionality of automation systems within oil & gas projects.

Your primary focus will be on performing loop checks and managing distributed control systems (DCS) automation to support safe and efficient plant operations.

Key responsibilities:

  Review and validate automation system designs, loop diagrams, and control logic for DCS and safety instrumented systems Plan, execute, and document loop checks and functional tests for instrumentation and control loops Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process, instrumentation, and safety engineers to ensure automation meet project and operational requirements Support site acceptance tests (SAT), commissioning, and startup activities Troubleshoot automation issues during installation and commissioning phases Maintain and update control system documentation such as I/O lists, sequence diagrams and functional specifications Ensure compliance with industry standards and client’s specification Coordinate with vendors, contractors and clint teams to resolve technical queries (TQ) and ensure smooth project delivery
Qualifications and experience:

  Bachelor’s degree in electrical, instrumentation, automation engineering or related discipline 5+ year of experience in automation engineering within oil & gas projects, preferably with a focus on loop checks and DCS systems Strong knowledge of DCS platforms, preferably Emerson and Honeywell Experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS), process control systems (PCS), emergency shut down systems (ESD), Burner management systems, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), System Graphics Proven track record in loop checking. Commissioning and system validation Excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills Familiarity with project documentation standards and control system design principles
