Tyvek® is a 100% synthetic material made from high-density spunbound polyethylene fibers. Lightweight, durable and breathable, yet resistant to water, abrasion, bacterial penetration and aging, Tyvek® is an amazing material used to improve a variety of applications across multiple industries. Tyvek® is available in both a hard structure, used for HomeWrap envelopes and medical packaging applications, and a soft structure, fabric-like finish used for protective apparel and consumer applications. Discover how the science behind Tyvek® allows for superior performance across a range of applications. **Job Description:** Automation & Process Control Engineer is responsible for managing overall area process control systems, instrumentation, and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) to ensure business needs are met through the appropriate application of systems engineering and maintenance in a chemical facility. Acts as primary resource for all existing automation and Distributed Control System (DCS) equipment and initiatives. **Qualifications:** + BS Engineering or Computer/Programing Related discipline – Required + A minimum of 3+ years of manufacturing or related experience + Tyvek® Line of business experience – Preferred + Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process/Low Hazard Operation) experience – Preferred + Experience with DCS/PLC architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting (Honeywell and/or Rockwell PLC/HMI) – Preferred **Responsibilities:** + Support DuPont Core Value initiatives including Safety, Environmental, Process Safety Management (PSM), Ethics and Respectful Workplace. + Provides leadership in automation and process control to ensure 24/7 plant operations are properly configured and supported. + Applies knowledge of the Tyvek® technology to define and implement solutions for PSM, Grow and Improve projects as it relates to programing and process control initiatives. + First contact in Manufacturing Technology (MT) Engineering for advanced troubleshooting for process control related issues. + Lead or support projects (cost and capital) involving DCS/PLC initiatives, the application of Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF), and any other process control technologies. + Participates/Develops adequate basic data for CapEx projects and offers resourcing support in commissioning, decommissioning, start-up, and shut down of projects. + Provide Technical Input and update necessary documents utilizing the Management of Change (MOC) process. + Understanding the principles of operation, reliability, and performance characteristics of instrumentation, drives, measurements, analyzers, control valves, control systems, etc. + Ensure that field devices, instrumentation systems, communication networks, and interfaces are working properly. + Manage / improve the Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) to ensure compliance with corporate standards. + Monitor and troubleshoot control systems and instrumentation. + Participates in Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs). + Provide required engineering support for area Root Cause Investigations (RCI’s). + Collaborates across MT, Operations, Maintenance, EH&S, R&D, etc. + Provide technical training and coaching for the manufacturing unit. + Provides technical input into Business Technology Plan to meet production goals. + Provides technical input into Multi-Generational Technology Plan. + Validates technical solutions and documents results to drive toward standardized Process Control Technology. **Capabilities Required for this Role (Knowledge Skills & Abilities)** + Experience in a manufacturing environment + Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Computer/Programing related discipline + Learning agility - A personal drive to learn, pivot when necessary, and adapt to the ever-changing needs of our company in the face of a changing world and customer base + Intellectual curiosity - Proactively investing time and energy into learning more and personally developing, in the interest of improving yourself and delivering better results Join our Talent Community (http://careers.dupont.com/us/en/jointalentcommunity) to stay connected with us!
