Automation and Process Control Engineer

The Qnity Electronics Global Automation Team has an opening for an Automation & Process Control Engineer. The team provides leveraged support for all E&I manufacturing sites worldwide.

This role can be performed remotely with an expectation of up to 25% travel to support site A&PC projects within the Asia-Pacific region.

Your key responsibilities:

Strategic Automation Support: Provide strategic level automation and process control technical services to all Qnity Electronics businesses to drive revenue growth and improve asset effectiveness.Engineering Principles: Apply engineering principles, industry standards, and knowledge to support the selection, development, implementation, commissioning, and validation of the successful operation of process control applications and solutions.Project Leadership: Lead capital project teams to achieve automation and process control objectives.Vendor and System Integrator Management: Provide directions to vendors and system integrators to ensure high quality deliverables.Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide assistance for new project start-ups, test runs, and special procedures as needed.

             

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:B.S. Engineering+10 years of experience in developing and commissioning process control applications.Technical Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in DCS/PLC architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting.  Emerson DeltaV and/or Rockwell PLC/HMI preferred. Batch programming experience is preferred.Understanding of the principles of operation, reliability, and performance characteristics of instrumentation, drives, measurements, analyzers, and control valves.Industry Standards: Experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) systems with High Hazard Processes; specifically, SIS lifecycle (IEC 61511-1), alarm management lifecycle (AM: ANSI/ISA 18.22016), and A&PC Cybersecurity (IEC 62443-2-1).Experience with process safety standards and their application to chemical manufacturing facilities.Project Leadership and Improvement: Experience championing and implementing improvements in systems capabilities in a manufacturing plant environment.Demonstrated success in managing and leading both long-term programs/projects as well as addressing short-term operational issues.Language Requirements:Proficiency in Mandarin and English.
