**Automated Process Equipment Support Engineer -** Newark, DE
We are seeking an entry level automated process equipment support engineer to join our chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) team. This role will provide hands-on technical support for automated process equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting, troubleshooting, and improving automated and robotic equipment in a discrete manufacturing environment.
This business unit is currently part of DuPont’s Electronics and Industrial Division and will become part of the new Electronics Company (QnityTM) when DuPont splits into 2 new companies. Electronics and Industrial is comprised of a number of high growth global businesses supplying a broad array of materials to multiple consumer electronics and industrial sectors. The CMP facilities consist of batch polymer manufacturing, film coating and converting operations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Part of Newark site Automation and Process Control (A&PC) team responsible for support of manufacturing plant operations
+ Provide day-to-day technical support for automated process equipment at the Newark site. Resolve issues related to robotics, vision systems, barcoding, and scanning equipment.
+ Assist in the execution of capital projects, including design reviews, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
+ Participate in Machine Risk Assessments (MRAs) and ensure compliance with DuPont S1M machine safety standards.
+ Work with external vendors to support equipment upgrades, repairs, and qualifications.
**Qualifications:**
+ 1 – 3 years of experience in a discrete manufacturing environment with a focus on automated and robotic equipment.
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering with coursework in robotics, machine vision, and automated inspection.
+ Experience with robotics platforms (e.g., KUKA, ABB or Epson) and integration with vision systems.
+ Experience with vision system programming preferred (LabVIEW, Cognex, Keyence).
+ Familiarity with Machine Risk Assessments and Performance Level calculations.
+ Proficiency in CAD/CAM software – SolidWorks preferred
+ Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
+ SQL Database experience
+ Experience with mechanical and/or electrical fabrication.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Highly motivated and effective problem solver.
