Job Title: AutoCAD Drafter
Location: Kearny, NJ
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 annually (Non-negotiable)
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
AUTOCAD DRAFTER
Responsibilities
+ Create and revise 2D/3D CAD drawings, layouts, elevations, and isometric views for engineering and construction projects.
+ Generate Front-End Engineering Drawings (FEED) and maintain accurate as-built documentation.
+ Perform fieldwork including measurements, line tracing, and verification to support drawing accuracy.
+ Prepare detailed multi-view drawings of process systems, applying knowledge of equipment, building materials, and engineering standards.
+ Use AutoCAD Plant 3D to develop P&IDs, 3D models, steel structures, and visualizations.
+ Support drawing updates, regulatory documentation, and internal standards compliance across NJ, DE, and CT facilities.
+ Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure drawing packages meet specifications and are execution-ready.
+ Maintain version-controlled drawing records and follow corporate technical and quality standards.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Minimum 3 years of drafting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
+ Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D is required.
+ Proficiency in Revit is a plus.
+ Experience with P&ID drafting, architectural/structural drafting, and fieldwork (e.g., as-builts, line tracing).
+ Strong analytical and visualization skills with advanced 2D/3D drafting capabilities.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
+ Must pass a 10-panel controlled substance test and background investigation (TSA TWIC eligibility required).
Travel Requirements
+ Occasional travel to company sites for project work and field audits.
+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Physical Requirements
+ Must be able to stand throughout the workday and lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
+ Must be able to work on elevated surfaces and grated structures.
+ Must be able to pass a respirator fit test (SCBA).
+ Must be comfortable working in both office and plant environments, including varying climate conditions.
