Authorizations Coordinator
Description We are looking for an Authorizations Coordinator to join our team in Covina, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely access to healthcare services by managing insurance verifications and eligibility processes. This is a great opportunity to work in the non-profit sector, where your efforts will directly contribute to improving patient care. Responsibilities: • Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives to verify eligibility and address coverage issues. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of insurance verification in the patient management system. • Follow up on pending authorizations and eligibility inquiries to ensure timely resolution. • Identify and resolve discrepancies in insurance coverage by collaborating with insurance representatives. • Assist in processing pre-authorization requirements to expedite patient services. • Provide exceptional customer service while handling inquiries from all stakeholders. • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and protect patient confidentiality. • Utilize healthcare software systems, including EHR platforms, to manage authorizations and documentation. • Support billing and claims administration by providing accurate insurance details. • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline workflows related to insurance and eligibility processes. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required; a college degree is preferred. • Previous experience in insurance verification, eligibility coordination, or related healthcare roles. • Knowledge of medical billing practices and insurance policies. • Proficiency in healthcare software systems such as Epic, Cerner, or athenahealth. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders. • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Familiarity with appeals, claims administration, and collection processes.
