The incumbent will assist & support the LDOE Mission by conducting objective and independent audits and reviews of the covered agencies and section operations showing the LDOE performs its mandated missions in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements. In addition, the incumbent will maintain a database repository of monitoring and audit reports related to federal flow-through funding to LDOE school systems, charter schools, and noneducational subrecipients. Preferred Experience + Experience working with databases + Willingness to ask questions when needed + Ability and willingness to collaborate effectively to accomplish tasks and goals + Strong focus and attention to detail on the job at hand Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems; OR A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems; OR A bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR A bachelor’s degree plus a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP) designation; OR An advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: As an Auditor I, 2, or 3, the incumbent will: + Under direction of higher level audit staff, conduct internal audits of various internal programs of the Department. + Examine financial and other reports of various programs to determine accuracy of information submitted.. + Maintain two high volume databases related to monitoring and single-audits for pass-through federal funds to LDOE subrecipients entering information daily. + Assist in developing audit plans and procedures. + Review audit observations and reports with superiors.to outline special problems affecting internal operations. + Perform special projects as directed and prepare reports related to the projects performed. + Review financial and other reports of various programs to determine accuracy. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected. Career Progression: T his position participates in a Career Progression Group. Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined. Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Auditor 2 (AS-615) Hourly: $20.65 – $40.53 Monthly: $3,579 – $7,025 Annually: $42,952 – $84,302 Auditor 3 (AS-617) Hourly: $23.65 – $46.41 Monthly: $4,099 – $8,044 Annually: $49,192 – $96,533 **Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career andnot the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire .
