In this role, you will work closely with Amazon's Last Mile transportation businesses to plan, scope, and execute audits to verify carrier partners are meeting legal and contractual obligations relating to business practices, driver / provider eligibility, and safety standards. You will be expected to apply risk and control concepts to new and existing business models, clearly and concisely communicate identified findings to carrier partners, and internally report audit results in a timely and effective manner. You will provide carriers with consultative support to identify opportunities for improvement, develop corrective action plans to address audit defects, and manage those remediation plans to closure. You will also work collaboratively with the business, safety, legal, finance, tech, and human resource teams to implement world-class, customer-centric, compliance and risk management solutions.
This position requires the ability to travel periodically.
Key job responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits of carrier partners to verify compliance with: Legal requirements, Contractual obligations, Business practice standards, Driver/provider eligibility requirements, and Safety standards
- Apply risk and control concepts to evaluate both new and existing business models
- Document and report audit findings in a timely manner
- Clearly communicate audit findings to carrier partners
- Prepare internal audit reports and compliance documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business, safety, legal, finance, tech, HR)
- Present recommendations and solutions to stakeholders
- Provide consultative support to carrier partners
- Identify areas for operational improvement
- Develop corrective action plans to address audit defects
- Manage remediation plans through to completion
- Contribute to developing compliance and risk management solutions
- Help implement customer-centric risk management processes
- Support the creation of world-class compliance standards
- Assist in evolving audit procedures based on business needs
- Maintain strong relationships with carrier partners
- Work closely with Last Mile transportation businesses
- Foster collaborative relationships with internal teams
- Act as a liaison between carriers and various
- Solve ambiguous problems
A day in the life
Audit & Compliance Managers engage with Carrier Partners, plan, scope, execute, and report on the audit outcomes. The individual provides consultative support and guidance on corrective actions to Carrier Partners and verifies remediation. Audit & Compliance Managers will also consult with business, legal, and tech teams to develop gap remediation strategies and the build-out of sustainable and systematic solutions. The individual will work effectively in a team environment and, as individual contributors, be able to work remotely and effectively review the work of other remote team members.

Transportation Risk and Compliance (TRC) is the voice of risk and compliance for Amazon’s transportation businesses across 16 regions. We proactively identify and manage risks through risk mitigation strategies and provide assurance that Amazon and our carrier partners comply with the highest transportation and legal standards (including legislative, regulatory, and contractual). Anchored by sound subject matter expertise, processes, and growing technology solutions, our TRC leaders improve public safety and enable business growth as we work diligently to serve our customers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Operations, Accounting, Finance, Law, IT, or relevant field
- 3+ years of audit experience related to business processes, risk mitigation, program compliance, regulatory compliance, internal audit, or other control and assurance functions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL and Excel
- Technical aptitude and familiarity with Excel, complex databases, and data analytics tools
- Continuous improvement background (i.e., 6-sigma, ISO, Total Quality, Etc.)
- Transportation or logistics experience.
- One or more professional certifications - CPA, CISA, CIA, CFE, CCEP, PMP

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
