The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an Audiovisual Engineer for our team in Herndon, VA to design, configure, and operate advanced AV systems for US government customers.
Position Responsibilities:
Survey, plan, develop, design, configure, and test multi-classification AV solutions for government customers. Generate custom audiovisual system designs, including DSP layouts and systems configuration. Lead or attend customer stakeholder meetings to collect and document or validate system requirements. Research, identify, and recommend technology options to solve customer problems.Draft system engineering documentation, including signal flows, line diagrams, bills of materials, rack elevations, and cable plants.Support onsite installation of AV systems and lead system configuration phases. Coordinate with customer facilities teams and other onsite sub-contractors and vendors during systems installation as required.Support the development of end-user training materials and operations & maintenance plans.Perform in-house testing and on-site commissioning at client locations.Develop expertise in the industry through continuing training, certifications, and review of trade publications.This position requires an active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Willingness and ability to acquire a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CIP) post start.3+ years of related work experience for level 3.5+ years of related work experience for level 4.Experience in setup/install and support of large-scale audiovisual systems.Ability to provide own transportation to local (typically within about 40 minutes) job sites as needed.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Associate degree or higher.AVIXA certification.DSP platform (Biamp, QSC, ...) experience.Experience with Crestron, Extron, or Thinklogical systems.Experience with AutoCAD and Visio.Adjudicated Counterintelligence or Full Scope Polygraph.Typical Education & Experience:
Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).
