The Audio Video Designer works as part of the technical show quality team in support of maintaining the highest quality of the shows throughout the Disney theme parks. In addition to the knowledge of A/V equipment, the candidates should also have A/V media design skills, and knowledge of theme park stories, a strong sense of the Disney brand, and the capacity to work well with a team structure.
What You Will do:
Development of the media scope, which delineates, in narrative form, the parameters of the media and the environment in which it will playParticipate in and supply media, hardware for any required mockups.Attend show production and team meetings, updating show producers and directors on the status of assigned projects.Define the media hardware requirements; assure the hardware installation is on time, supplies information for and coordinates any physical acoustical issuesWork with Show Programming to supply audio tracks and timing information for figure and show programmingAssist a more senior Designer (Sr. or Principal) in the A/V design for individual theme park attractionsAssist in the planning and implementation of the show production processAssist in the documentation of the show concept, design, production, post-production, installation and as-built specifications for various types of theme park venuesSupport the restoration and sustainment of audio and video systems independent of supervision.Provide specifications for A/V equipment and review vendor documentation for conformance.Troubleshoot and resolve installation conflicts, interferences, and other problems.Conduct Show Reviews on 3rd shift and produce detailed reports.Provide efficient solutions and guidance to maintenance teams, providing installation oversight as required.Required Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in A/V system design.Previous experience in a theatrical sound design, sound department, recording studio, TV/radio station environment or other audio facility preferredPrevious experience in field integration, system-level troubleshootingFamiliarity with Q-sys Designer, Alcorn McBride playback units, SPL meters/frequency spectrum analyzers, AutoCADUnderstanding of high and low impedance audio system configurations.Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, Pro tools is desired.Experience in audio production/postproduction is desired.Experience writing technical documentation and spelling ability required, especially during the labeling and archiving processUnderstanding of digital audio formats and digital music composition/production is helpfulUnderstanding of how to diagnose and trouble shoot entire signal path of A/V systems is required.Understanding of international technical formatsManage a flexible schedule across varying shifts and competing prioritiesComprehensive knowledge of audio source and reproduction/exhibition technology.Understanding of sound system design, architecture acoustic requirements, test and measurement. Experience in interfacing both PC and MAC based computers to audio hardware.Candidate with lower skills or experiences will be considered as Assistant Audio Video Designer role.HKProfessional #LI-AI1
