Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. We are looking for an audio engineers to join our MSNBC Audio Unit. These roles will work across the unit to support multiple projects, to ensure high technical standards by mixing tape for audio platforms and fine tuning our video podcasts. The engineers will report to the Senior Production Manager and collaborate with the producers to ensure podcasts are beautifully mastered and delivered to spec. The engineers should understand and have an interest in news and politics, as well as journalism best practices. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Technical setup ahead of interviews & support during recordings + Ingest video & audio for podcast edits + Mix audio episodes + Work on high-level video podcast episodes + Weigh in on technical setup on remote recordings + Collaborate with TV crews on cross-platform shoots + Collaborate with event venues on live recordings + Troubleshoot problems with Descript, ProTools and Riverside + Make updated equipment suggestions to Production Manager + Work with Production Manager to make sure all producers & APs have necessary equipment and technical resources + Ensure spec compliance for audio & video podcasts platforms + Develop/maintain in-house music library + Compile cue sheets Additional Requirements   + Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through nbcunicareers.com to be considered  + Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States  + Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. + Must be willing to work varied shifts as news changes This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
