Audio and Acoustic Engineer
**Summary:** The Audio Tech & Tools team identifies systemic gaps and new opportunities and develops “Zero to One” platform technologies such as acoustic materials, sensors, integration, array systems, advanced modeling, algorithms, and EE/Silicon to dramatically improve users audio render & capture experience, and scale across our product lines.We are seeking an experienced technologist with a background in research and product engineering across various industries. As a recognized industry subject matter leader in audio for telecommunications, acoustics, acoustic simulation, and transducer design, this individual will be adept at finding practical and novel solutions to engineering challenges across broad disciplines. **Required Skills:** Audio and Acoustic Engineer Responsibilities: 1. Spearhead research and design to advance precision sound reproduction 2. Develop next generation transducer technology for speakers and microphones 3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and enhance transducer performance for next-generation audio devices 4. Develop advanced numerical simulation techniques to address complex challenges in acoustics, spatial audio, and signal processing, with applications in VR and AR 5. Advance the state of the art in acoustic transducers and acoustic systems 6. Conduct acoustic tests and establish related metrics 7. Characterize novel materials and devices, working closely with engineers to design and prototype audio devices 8. Validate prototypes through simulations and measurements, coordinating with external vendors for fabrication and manufacturing **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 9. 8+ years of experience in acoustics design, mechano-acoustic simulations, prototyping, mechanical and electrical design, and signal processing 10. BS in Acoustic Engineering, Physics, or Electrical Engineering 11. Design, implementation, research and project leading skills 12. Experience in Matlab, and Lumped parameter acoustic simulation 13. Experience in Boundary Element Method (BEM) and Finite Element Method (FEM) numerical simulation such as COMSOL, SysNoise, Virtual Lab 14. Experience making informed decisions, proactively address challenges, adapt to changing circumstances, and take responsibility for resolving open issues 15. Experience with a variety of acoustic test equipment such as RME, Klippel, SoundCheck, Audio Precision, etc **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 16. MS, PHD or coursework preferred 17. Track record of audio innovation and patent activity 18. Familiarity with MATLAB, COMSOL, Klippel RnD, Audio Precision, L-Edit 19. Familiarity with microfabrication 20.
