Milano, MIThe RoleWIRED Italy is looking for a creative and innovative media talent to join the Global Audience Development, Social and Analytics team as an Audience Development Manager. The perfect candidate understands how to creatively develop, engage, and inform audiences across platforms, and be clued in on emerging networks and how “wired.it” can use them effectively. The Audience Development Manager will work closely with WIRED Italy’s Head of Editorial Content, Social Media Manager, and the Global Audience Development Team to implement daily strategies for SEO, newsletters, and revenue growth. This role is based in Milan, working from the local Condé Nast office.
Primary ResponsibilitiesWork with WIRED Italy’s Editors and WIRED’s Global Audience Development Team to grow traffic and engagement across core subject areas, including Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Innovation, Cybersecurity, Science, and Italian Pop Culture and internet trends
Research search trends and work with editors to improve headlines, publishing strategy, and evergreen content that will resonate with the wired.it audience
Help manage and execute curation, scheduling, and strategy for WIRED’s newsletters, including the Daily and Monthly offerings, as well as War, Roba da Femmine, Non scaldiamoci, Gadgetland, and Tutta salute
Partner with editorial and audience development teams to meet WIRED Italy’s KPIs, define social and newsletter testing strategies, and conduct deep-dives to identify audience growth opportunities
Support growth initiatives for video and podcasts
Support community growth across various digital channels, and build strategies to funnel readers to events and the print magazine
Collaborate with the Editorial and Social teams for coverage of live events and tentpoles such as the Nobel Prizes, CES, and product launch events
Support promotion and coverage for WIRED-hosted events, including WIRED Health, The Big Interview, and WIRED Next Fest
Develop relationships with audience development managers across other Condé Nast brands to share strategies and best practices
Additional duties as needed or requested by management
3-5 years of experience in Publishing; Editorial or Audience Development familiarity preferred
Professional fluency in Italian and English, written and spoken
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Professional experience creating, optimizing, and adapting content for platforms including websites, newsletters, video, and social media platforms
Professional experience with publishing and analytics tools, such as Dash Social, Listen First, Sailthru, Apple News Publisher, Parse.ly, and Google Analytics
A love for technology, innovation and social transformation, and a desire to share that information in a fun, clever, entertaining way
