Under the general supervision of Auction Services Management this associate performs all duties of an Auction Services Associate, facilitates the direction of work, and disseminates tasks. Acts as a leader and mentor amongst the work group and challenges team members to drive performance to results. Observes and reports behaviors of associates to management.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct accurate vehicle condition assessments by collecting, recording, and communicating all required information (including cosmetic, specific mechanical conditions, options, etc.) from assessments for an Auction Manager’s and/or Merch analysis.Accurate optioning of vehicles during assessments.Coordinates distribution of work amongst the team, as assigned by manager, to perform daily functionsConduct informal and formal observations to maintain standard work executionTrain/Mentor new and existing associates on standardized workAssists in the selection and maintenance of a balanced workload in assigned zonesReports behaviors, attendance, performance, and tardiness of associates Auction Services ManagerSupports and participates in problem solving activitiesMonitors aging reports to ensure timely disposal of inventoryMaintain and document the transfer of incoming and outgoing inventory that is processed through the shipping and receiving facilityEnsure daily maintenance and security of inventory and vehicle parking areasResponsible for workplace cleanliness and organization in accordance with CarMax standardsEnsures all equipment is maintained, repaired, and cleaned as required within assigned zonesEnsures proper inventory levels of all personal protective equipment, tools, and chemicalsProvide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customersComplete the daily scanning and reconciliation of the vehicle inventoryProvides operational direction when the manager is not presentPerform Auction Services Associate functions as neededJob Specifications:Accountable to Associate 1 Competency ModelMeet Wholesale and Inventory Performance StandardsRead, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.Required to perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environmentSpeak and listen effectively when dealing with customers, associates, and vendors, both in person and over the phoneComplete CarMax provided training in specific functional areas, allowing for cross trainingWork with cross-functional teams to provide an exceptional customer experienceDemonstrate professional behaviors when interacting with associates, customers and vendorsLift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbsWorking Conditions:Combination of both indoor and outdoor environment; will include working at times in noisy and/or inclement weather conditions.Requires walking or standing for extended periods of time.Flexible work hours with shifts that will include, weekends, and holidays.Wears CarMax clothing (acquired through company) at all times.Follow CarMax, O.S.H.A., and EPA standards including use of Personal Protective Equipment, and proper waste disposal in required areas.Adhere to all CarMax policies including Attendance, Asset Protection, Integrity and Uniform policies.About CarMax
