Description We are looking for a skilled Attorney/Lawyer to join our legal team on a contract basis in Arlington, Virginia. This role involves serving as a trusted legal advisor, providing strategic counsel to management and various departments, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Responsibilities: • Offer strategic legal counsel to management and internal teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. • Conduct legal research and analysis, delivering clear and actionable advice. • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including contracts, policies, and correspondence. • Provide support during contract negotiations, focusing on liability, indemnification, and risk allocation. • Oversee the contract review and storage process, ensuring the use of standardized clauses and templates. • Manage intellectual property matters, including trademark registrations, enforcement, and compliance. • Support corporate compliance efforts, including antitrust and regulatory policies. • Assist in litigation and dispute resolution, managing discovery, document production, and external counsel coordination. • Provide legal oversight for events, such as reviewing contest rules and managing onsite intellectual property issues. • Deliver internal legal training and ensure compliance with evolving laws and regulations. Requirements • Licensed attorney with at least 5-7 years of focused legal experience, including 3+ years in an in-house legal or trade association role. • Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents. • Strong background in civil litigation, including discovery, briefing, and drafting motions. • Experience providing legal counsel to senior management and collaborating with external legal teams. • Familiarity with intellectual property matters, including trademarks and enforcement processes. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly. • Knowledge of compliance requirements for corporate policies, antitrust laws, and regulatory standards. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
