Description We are looking for a dedicated Attorney to join our team in Towson, Maryland, specializing in commercial litigation. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a collaborative group of legal professionals and practicing sophisticated work. Responsibilities: • Represent clients in construction litigation and commercial disputes, ensuring their interests are effectively advocated. • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and prepare persuasive legal documents, including motions and briefs. • Manage disputes from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, engaging in discovery, and participating in settlement negotiations. • Handle depositions, hearings, and court appearances with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence. • Collaborate with supervising attorneys to develop case strategies and provide high-quality legal counsel. • Develop a strong understanding of construction law principles to gain greater independence in your role. • Engage in client communication to provide updates, gather information, and offer legal advice. • Work efficiently to meet reasonable billable hour requirements while maintaining accuracy and quality. • Stay informed on developments in construction and commercial litigation to enhance expertise and performance. Requirements • Admission to the Maryland Bar is mandatory, with additional admission to the District of Columbia Bar preferred. • A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial litigation, with prior exposure to construction litigation highly valued. • Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills to support effective case management. • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines. • Proficiency in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs. • Experience conducting depositions and representing clients in court proceedings. • A strong work ethic paired with the motivation to learn and grow within the field of construction law. • Familiarity with civil litigation processes and principles.
