The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in providing legal expertise, collaborating on case strategies, and directly engaging with schools and their legal representatives. Responsibilities: • Conduct interviews with clients and draft or revise statements to ensure accuracy and clarity. • Collaborate with teams to develop and implement effective case strategies. • Serve as the primary point of contact for schools, including their general counsel or external legal representatives. • Draft motions, briefs, and other necessary legal documents as part of case preparation. • Manage discovery processes and ensure compliance with legal procedures. • Provide expert advice in civil litigation matters to support case outcomes. • Work independently while maintaining a high standard of efficiency. Requirements • Active DC bar license preferred; candidates with licenses in other jurisdictions may also be considered. • Proven experience in civil litigation with demonstrated expertise in drafting motions and briefs. • Licensed attorney with a strong understanding of legal processes and strategy. • Proficiency in managing discovery and related legal documentation. • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and external parties. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services in a contract role.
