ATS - Electrical Tester - Weekend Shift

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a ATS - Electrical Tester - Weekend Shift at our Arden, NC location in our Medium Voltage Drives department.
Shift Hours: 7:00am - 7:30pm
The hourly rate for this position is $26.50 per hour, plus a $2/ hour increase for 2nd shift.

**What you’ll do:**
The ATS - Electrical Tester - Weekend Shift will set up, operate and maintain a variety of test equipment to perform electrical, electronic and mechanical tests on a variety of control equipment under the supervision of an experienced tester. Tester C is expected to continue through tester progression to Tester B & A, following the documented timeline and expectations provided in the tester book.
In this function you will:
• Test equipment, ensure it meets customer specifications as well as safety and quality requirements under supervision.
• Ensure a safe work environment for self and others and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Constantly involved in product and process knowledge; requiring additional classroom work, assigned reading, and training from an experienced tester (A).
• Build positive relationships that support job objectives and a team environment.
• Develop rapport and establish relationships with customers; will interface heavily with customers on witness tests under the supervision and guidance of an experienced tester (A).
• Record data and write reports, process paperwork timely, accurately, and with accountability.
• Follow procedures with accuracy, efficiently and with strict attention to details.
• Troubleshoot and repair various problems that could occur during course of test such as warranty and non-warranty problems; requires Tester to think critically to solve problems with the assistance of an experienced tester (A or B).
• Continuously improve work environment processes; may require Tester to suggest ways to develop test setups and new procedures when current procedures are inadequate.
• Recognize and report quality issues through the correct channels as they arise.
• Perform other tasks as required.
**Qualifications:**
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Associates degree in electrical engineering or electronics from an accredited institution.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of this location.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous work experience troubleshooting electrical and/or mechanical problems.
• Previous experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
**Skills:**
• Strong knowledge of the following fundamental electrical concepts: Basic Electricity, Motors and Controls, PLC Programming & Fundamentals AC/DC
• Experience with protective relays.
• Perform electrical testing or service work (i.e. physical and mental activities) on equipment ranging from 5VDC (logic devices, zone interlocking signals, etc.) up to 30KVAC three phase power.
• Advanced Troubleshooting Technique
• Advanced Test Equipment Operation
• Assist Design and Application Engineers with special test projects.
• Ability to repetitively work at elevated heights, standing, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling.
• Ability to repetitively lift, hold, push, pull, handle up to 35 pounds.
• Strong computer skills
• Strong knowledge of the company's electrical, electronic and mechanical products.
• Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
