Menlo School is seeking an exceptional coach to lead, support and manage all phases of the Boys Lacrosse program. The successful candidate will have competitive lacrosse coaching experience either at the high school, college and/or elite club level, the ability to teach lacrosse fundamentals, conduct productive practices, and develop a strong program to improve the skills of lacrosse players of varying abilities. This is a 12 month, full time position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide the organization, direction, and administration of the boys lacrosse teams from grades 6-12. Plan and conduct effective training sessions. Schedule contests, and ensure transportation is arranged. Hire assistant lacrosse coaches and provide structure and leadership. Stay current with Athletics rules and policies within the WCAL and CCS. In conjunction with the conditioning staff, develop an off-season conditioning and practice program that will enhance the progress of the players. Coach Middle School athletics. Work collaboratively and effectively with the Athletic Trainers, Sports Performance Coaches, other coaches, Facilities personnel and others in the Department. Ability to work with parents, faculty, staff and students in a constructive manner - even under stressful conditions. Ability to both represent as well as teach the school’s Mission and Values as an integral part of the educational experience. Exemplify and teach the values of the Menlo Athletic Department (attached) Provide event supervision as needed. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. Minimum Requirements: At least three years prior lacrosse coaching experience at the high school, college and/or elite club level. Experience that includes knowledge of National Federation High School (NFHS) rules and regulations of the sport and a knowledge of adolescent psychology as it relates to sports participation is preferred.
