Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Marketing and Promotions Manager reports to the Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:Promote Weber State athletic programs focusing on ticket sales and event attendance.Assist with all aspects of the Marketing and Promotions Department. This includes working with the sponsorship sales team. Provide leadership and direction to marketing interns for athletics department activities as it relates to marketing, promotion and game operation activities. Assist to develop, direct and enhance the fan experience.Assist with the coordination of game day functions including, but not limited to game day operations, script writing, on field promotions and presentations, music, and other forms of entertainment. Assist in the responsibility of developing and directing promotions and managing game-day staff. Oversee the coordination of the Football Fan Fest/Tailgate Lot.Assist with the creation and implementation of an annual marketing and promotions plan for Weber State Athletics.Work with campus community to facilitate promotional materials for athletic events.Comply with NCAA, Big Sky Conference, and institutional guidelines in regard to ticket sales and distribution procedures.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Selected individual will have a strong working knowledge and understanding of all NCAA rules and regulations regarding compliance issues. In accordance with the principles of NCAA compliance, it is understood that any employee who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repetitive violations.
Required Qualifications:
Required:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.One year of related experienceApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred:Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related fieldOne year of related experience in collegiate athletics (preferably at the NCAA Division I level)Strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills with attention to details.Working knowledge of a broad range of athletics department activitiesAn attitude that fosters a respectful, non-threatening workplace environment and ability to work in a team environment with other staff members, coaches, student-athletes, members of the media and the general publicAbility to accept a flexible work schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays and to work effectively with a variety of individuals and organizationsGoal and task oriented with strong customer relations, problem solving, and communications skillsThis position holds expectations of compliance with all NCAA, Big Sky Conference, Weber State University and Athletics department rules and regulations.

Physical Requirements of this position: Light work. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than that for sedentary work.
Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision: Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services,) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection).
The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position: The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. , The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. , The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity., The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
