4 Year DegreeDescription: Abilene Christian University, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), is seeking qualified applications for the position of Broadcast Assistant. Wildcats Athletics is a not for profit corporation which was organized in 1919 to foster the development of intercollegiate athletics in conjunction with the educational activities of Abilene Christian University. Wildcats Athletics operates the varsity intercollegiate programs (17 programs) of Abilene Christian University. With a total enrollment of over 6,300 students. ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. All applicants must be in support of the Christian mission and purpose of Abilene Christian University while employed by the university.
Position Summary: Performs assigned duties and projects in various areas of Media Relations including, but not limited to, serving as the department liaison for ACUTV, provide support services for video production and broadcasting, creating graphics and additional responsibilities assigned by the Assistant AD for Media Relations. The position works closely with a team of administrators, professional staff, and undergraduate students. The Broadcast Assistant is normally 1-2-year commitment and receives a monthly $1,000 stipend ($12,000 total) and housing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the ACUTV Director to plan and coordinate all home events on ESPN+; Direct live and taped sports productions; Provide support services to maintain, update and optimize equipment; Serve as a technology liaison for on-campus partners and external clients; Recruit, train and supervise students to assist with technical roles and ensure procedures are maintained; Assist with the Athletics Creative Services team on departmental projects and sport specific needs; Perform other duties as assigned by the ACUTV Director and the Assistant AD for Media Relations.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); Flexibility to learn and operate Xpression operating system and understanding of sports statistics; Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills; Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, and great attention to detail; Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment; Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed; Ability to maintain a valid state issued driver’s license.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Sports Broadcasting, or related academic field; Experience working in an intercollegiate athletic media relations department; General knowledge of all WAC and NCAA guidelines related to marketing, fan experience and game management.Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and various digital devices, including, but not limited to: cell phone, printer, copy machine, and other related devices. This job requires flexibility and adaptability in schedule and the ability to perform job related duties on short notice.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This position may require frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 25 pounds; sitting and/or standing up to eight hours each day.
Travel:
Travel is not expected for this position.
Hours of Work:
This is a part-time position, extending a possible two-year program. Days and hours of work will vary based on the needs of the department and as job duties demand. Evening and weekend work may be required.
