Job Description:
Brown University Athletics is currently seeking candidates for the Athletics Assistant Ticket Manager position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).
This role will provide high level support to the Athletics Ticket Manager, specifically in the area of Ticket Sales and Operations (compliance, security, customer service, cash-handling – ticket sales, accounting, and reconciliation & reporting, assuring timely and accurate deposits). The position will also serve as Ticket Supervisor for select paid athletic events and will manage event workers at athletic contests. Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with inbound calls to the ticket office, including selling and processing single game tickets, season ticket plans, and mini plans.
Assist Athletics Ticket Manager with all ticketing operations, including planning, forecasting, compliance, security, and reporting.
Assist with the development and execution of marketing and promotions initiatives.
Support other administrative functions, as necessary, and as requested by senior leadership.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Competencies
Knowledge of both MAC and PC operating systems
Prior experience working in collegiate athletics, helpful.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Prior experience with an online ticketing system, preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite and willingness to learn new systems as required.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Strong financial accounting ability.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage competing priorities.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment.
Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
Flexible to change and interruptions.
Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a multi-tasking environment while maintaining careful attention to detail.
All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the compliance office and appropriate parties.
Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test, maintain current AED/CPR & First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division), and attend all required divisional and/or NCAA training/education programs.
